This debut release from the front man of "The Lurids" and "Crossed Streams" brings you dark, foreboding, atmospheric instrumental music to, perhaps, listen to by candlelight in your chamber of choice.
Black Rivers is the debut EP from Matt Barnett, comprised of five eclectic and dark instrumental pieces. Known primarily as the front man for surf rock outfit The Lurids, and the extreme metal band Crossed Streams, this EP is a massive departure from the speed and bombast of his other projects. Moody, slow and thoughtful orchestral movements with a healthy dose of vampirism to keep things moving.
Awkward First Steps
Paddling out further and further, waiting for the waves to start.
Here it is, The Lurids version of "Pre-Flyte". A quick little kiss of a wave before the surf is up. Consisting of four select tracks from 2011 to 2014, "Awkward First Steps" may be in reference to the varied style before the twangy surf onslaught of the first album, but it is no slouch itself. Featuring two cosmic instrumentals sandwiched by two guitar assaults, behold the genesis of The Lurids in all its glory!
Surfin' One Hell of a Wave!
Dark surf guitar instrumentals for those with discriminating taste.
Ottawa Valley dark surf rock! We surf in plaid while eating poutine! Magnifique!
A devastating, face-pounding, blackened metal assault!
Hollow...Here we have the third official full length LP from Crossed Streams. Should you care to enter the Hollow, you will be greeted by a pounding aural assault of molten metal. If you survive that, which is doubtful, you will have endured what can only be described as the most frigging personal and cathartic experience ever digitized and uploaded to the internet.
There must never be physical copies of this record. In case of an electromagnetic pulse that destroys all electronics and devices on Earth, thus reverting humanity to a stone-age existence, there will be no trace left of Hollow except for grim memories. Memories of terrifying hauntings in "The House At Dusk" and "Rotten Closet", and alienation in "The Space Under The Stairs". What happens in "Cicatrix" and "Heartless Moment" are best left unsaid...
For the love of Jeff! Have you read this far??
Anyhoo...this is metal. Fast. Heavy. Powerful. Canadian. Take a listen...
I Still Don't Like You!
This is hardcore punk, lace up the boots and start slammin'!
Ketone Militia is not for snobs. This is old-school, lace up the boots, put on the tin-foil and get in the pit, hardcore punk! Fast and angry, just as it's supposed to be. Watch your elbows, and if someone hits the ground make sure to help them up...
A Cold Memory
Witness a blackened crisis of faith delivered with pure metallic passion and pain, frozen in time on a winter lake of despair...
A Cold Memory. Cold is the end, cold is pain, cold is night. All the rage over humanity, loss, and injustice is represented on this...the angriest, most vicious offering from Crossed Streams. What began as a project of introspection over losses incurred, morphed into a accusatory opus with middle fingers aimed directly at the sky. Nothing is held back, the speed delivered with urgency, the melodies unnerving. Released on Bacchanalia 2013, it's a celebration of life in the face of death. Spitting at mortality. Heavy Friggin' Metal indeed...

The power and the pummeling are back with terrifying force on this release, but don't be fooled...there are twists and turns that will challenge your notion of what metal can be...or maybe it's just the full moon. Yeah, that's it...the moon...
Have you ever had one of those days where it just seems like everyone you meet has gone off the deep end? When it seems like no matter what you do, where you go, either you have a target on your back or something got in the water supply? Maybe, as inevitably someone will tell you, it's the full moon... Whether that's true or not, who knows, but it definitely seems to coincide...
"Lunartic" is about that, and other things that prey on ones mind...freezing to death, angry Gods, dabbling in the black arts, and what happens at the moment of...moving forward...you know, real miserable crap that it's probably not a good idea to dwell on. So let us do it for you, and in those moments where you just need to let it all out...Lunartic will be there...
A pounding, light-speed metal nocturne that explores the paralysis of sleep, nightmares, and disorders that trigger terrifying nightfall horrors.
The genesis of Crossed Streams began in late 2008 out of a sheer desire to join the sound of melodic death metal, with the speed and riffs of late '80's thrash metal. It's a style of music that Crossed Streams has never grown tired of, and now almost 30 years after the advent of thrash, has begun to evoke an almost warm and fuzzy "Baseball, Mom, and Apple Pie" feel to it...provided that Mom baked razor blades into the apple pie, and is waiting just around the corner for you with the baseball bat...but I digress...
If you love your metal fast, loud, and disturbed...
